Councillor Warren Nuttall defects from Ashfield Independents to Reform UK

Category: other

Councillor Warren Nuttall, who represents Greenwood and Summit on Ashfield District Council, left the Ashfield Independents group and joined Reform UK. He told reporters the paperwork to formalise the move had been signed. The defection followed the conviction of Ashfield Independents leader Jason Zadrozny for fraud and income tax evasion, and several councillors said they were considering leaving the group. Some members have publicly called for Zadrozny to resign as a councillor; he has remained on the council pending sentencing. Lee Anderson, the Reform MP for the area, said he supported a petition calling for the resignation of Cllr Zadrozny and another Ashfield Independents councillor.
