Left Reform UK group on Cornwall Council

This councillor was among five Reform UK councillors who quit the party's Cornwall Council group in October 2025, publicly citing interference from the national party in the running of the local group. The mass departure came just five months after Reform had swept in as the largest single group on Cornwall Council with 28 seats. The five who walked out, Anna Thomason-Kenyon, Karen Knight, Rob Parsonage, Rowland O'Connor and Christine Parsonage, went on to co-found the Cornish Independent Non-Aligned Group. Their exit began a sustained series of defections that has since taken Reform's Cornwall group down to 21 councillors and left Cornwall Council fragmented across 11 separate political groups.
