Stephen Mousdell was elected as a Reform UK councillor in St Helens on 7 May 2026 and resigned the following day, after the Liverpool Echo reported on his separate appearances in pornographic videos online. The seat was left vacant immediately after the poll. Reform UK has not published a detailed statement on the vetting of the candidacy.
