Durham county councillor for Chester-le-Street South. He was elected as an independent in May 2025 and joined Reform UK less than two weeks later. He left Reform UK on 15 September 2026; no reason has been published. Byline Times reported that four complaints about his alleged treatment of council officers in 2023 were considered by a Standards Committee panel and dismissed. The meeting was held in private and the council said it could not comment on confidential complaints.
