Menday described himself as an ethnonationalist and blamed Jewish people for antisemitism

Category: offensive

Nathaniel Menday, a Reform UK candidate, publicly described himself as an ethnonationalist, an ideology that defines legitimate nationhood by ethnicity, and posted that Jewish people bring antisemitism on themselves because they "overwhelmingly favour open borders". The formulation transfers responsibility for hatred against Jews onto Jews themselves and is a long-standing motif in modern antisemitism. The posts were surfaced in HOPE not hate's 30 April 2026 report "60 Reasons (and Counting) to Not Vote Reform on May 7th". Reform UK stood him for the 7 May 2026 elections despite claiming its vetting was "the best in the country".
