Left Reform UK in October 2025, later resigned from Cornwall Council

Category: scandal

Cllr Christine Parsonage was one of five Reform UK councillors who quit the party's Cornwall Council group in October 2025, citing interference from Reform's national party. She subsequently helped form the Cornish Independent Non-Aligned Group before ultimately resigning from Cornwall Council itself. Her departure, alongside Rob Parsonage, Rowland O'Connor, Karen Knight and Anna Thomason-Kenyon, triggered a sustained collapse of Reform's Cornwall bloc, which has since lost around a quarter of the 28 councillors elected in May 2025. Cornwall Council now contains 11 separate political groups.
