Wayne Titley was elected as the Reform UK councillor for Eccleshall and Gnosall in Staffordshire on 1 May 2025, winning by 27 votes, and resigned on 15 May 2025 citing personal reasons. He had faced criticism over a since removed Facebook post calling for the navy to intercept and sink small boats in the Channel with gunfire. Reform UK attributed the resignation to the level of abuse he had received. A by-election was subsequently arranged for the division.
