Brett Muscroft, Reform UK's candidate for Castleford Central and Glasshoughton, publicly described Islam as a "Cancer" that must be removed, and expressed support for Enoch Powell and Tommy Robinson. The posts described an entire religion in disease terms and endorsed two figures long associated with anti-immigrant and anti-Muslim politics. The comments were included in HOPE not hate's 30 April 2026 audit of Reform's May 2026 candidate slate, which grouped Mr Muscroft with a cluster of Wakefield and Yorkshire candidates whose public output contained anti-Muslim rhetoric and praise for far-right activists, a pattern the report argued Reform's vetting had failed to catch.
