Theresa Arnold, a Reform UK candidate, said publicly that she had "never supported Ukraine" and that she thinks "Putin might have got a point". The remarks aligned a would-be UK elected representative with the invading power in an ongoing war of aggression against a sovereign European neighbour. The comments were surfaced in HOPE not hate's 30 April 2026 report "60 Reasons (and Counting) to Not Vote Reform on May 7th". Reform UK stood her for the 7 May 2026 elections despite the party's public claim its vetting was "the best in the country".
