Joanne Blythe was suspended pending investigation after indicating she intended to sit as an independent, and resigned from Reform UK in March 2026 alongside colleague Kathryn Shaw. Both councillors said they were leaving because of what they described as a "toxic and poisonous culture" within the party. She now sits as an independent on West Northamptonshire Council. Reform UK has not published a detailed response to the councillors' criticism.
