Neil Cleaver - Councillor for Hailsham Central | Reform Watch

Neil Cleaver is a councillor on Wealden District Council representing Hailsham Central. He was first elected in May 2019 as a Liberal Democrat and re-elected in 2023. He resigned from the Liberal Democrats in 2024 due to what he described as "Green Party influence" in the Alliance for Wealden coalition. A former soldier, he serves as the council's Armed Forces champion and sat on the Majors Planning Committee and scrutiny committee. He defected to Reform UK in March 2026 at a rally in Ardingly.
